Using the Square Integration in Aqqrue

Learn how to connect Square, access detailed sales and payout data, and use Aqqrue to build custom accounting workflows.

The Square integration gives Aqqrue access to your client’s detailed Square data. Unlike a standard accounting integration, you can work directly with the underlying daily reports similar to having a structured collection of Excel files available inside Aqqrue.

Connect Square

To connect a client’s Square account:

  1. Open Integrations.

  2. Under Payments, select Square.

  3. Click Connect.

  4. Sign in to the client’s Square account and click Allow.

Once authorized, Aqqrue will begin importing the available Square reports.

What data does Aqqrue import?

Aqqrue currently imports three types of Square reports:

  • Sales Reports: Daily, item-level order data, including gross and net sales, discounts, taxes, tips, and payment methods such as cash, card, and gift cards.

  • Payout Reports: The amounts Square pays your client after deducting fees, including the dates on which sales are settled.

  • Vendor Sales Reports: Additional vendor-level sales information available from Square.

These reports are stored in Document Vault → Connected Apps → Square. Files are organized by report type, calendar year, month, and day.

Analyze Square data with Aqqrue

You do not need to manually attach or reference each Square report. Aqqrue knows where the connected Square data is stored and can select the appropriate files.

For example: Tell me the total Square sales for May.

Aqqrue will review the daily Sales Reports and calculate the total. You can also ask it to:

  • Separate cash, card, and gift-card sales.

  • Summarize gross sales, net sales, discounts, taxes, and tips.

  • Identify which May sales were paid out in June.

  • Match sales dates to payout dates.

  • Apply different accounting rules to different item categories.

  • Split revenue between the client and a third-party commission recipient.

  • Investigate discrepancies during a Square reconciliation.

Think of the integration as a set of Excel reports that Aqqrue can analyze using your firm’s specific instructions.

Create a repeatable Square Task

Once you have created the analysis or workflow you need, click the lightning icon to convert it into a reusable Task.

For example, a Task could calculate monthly sales, summarize payouts, and identify sales that had not yet been paid out at month-end.

Aqqrue will remember which Square reports to use, so the Task can be run again without visiting the Square dashboard or rebuilding the analysis in Excel.

Important: Resync Square before working

Square data does not currently sync automatically every day.

Before running an analysis or Task:

  1. Open Integrations and locate Square.

  2. Check the sync status.

  3. If the Synced button has turned yellow, click it to pull the latest Square data.

Once the sync is complete, you can return to the chat and work with the updated reports.
